Lauren Daigle en Lecrae grote winnaars bij Dove Awards

Lauren DaigleLauren Daigle is de grote winnaar geworden bij de uitreiking van de 46ste Dove Awards. De jonge zangeres kreeg voor haar hitsong How Can It Be de prijs voor beste song en beste popsong van het jaar en werd zelf onderscheiden met de award voor beste nieuwe artiest. Ook Lecrae nam drie prijzen mee naar huis: die van beste artiest, rap/hiphop album van het jaar en beste rap/hiphop song van het jaar.

Het is bijzonder dat Lauren Daigle de prijs voor zowel beste song als van nieuwe artiest won. Eerder lukte alleen Chris August dat voor zijn song Starry Night.

for King & Country kreeg de prijzen voor beste popartiest en beste popalbum en Matt Maher werd onderscheiden voor beste songwriter en zijn lied Because He Lives (Amen) werd bekroond als beste worshiplied van het afgelopen jaar. Needtobreathe gaat naar huis met de award voor pop/rocksong voor het nummer Brother en Skillet krijgt hem voor de beste rocksong (Good To Be Alive).
